The Scarecrow Wallpaper

This is one of my first ventures into using Photoshop. When I first started using Photoshop I mostly made collage type wallpapers for myself and friends. This specific wallpaper was made for a friend that wanted to be able to have something on his desktop to remind him of his brother. I was given some pictures as well as ideas for what to include in the wallpaper and ran with it. The end result I like, I just wish I would have made it larger.

Global Pandemic Typography Project - Black Plague

Set to a theme of depicting different diseases that played a role in history, this is one of three typography pieces. Smallpox, Influenza, and The Black Plague were matted and displayed as a triptych style piece. The Black Plague one is by far my favorite of the three.

The Answer is Blowin' in the Wind

This is by far my favorite poster I have made with Photoshop. The theme of the poster mainly consists of promoting wind energy as a great alternative source to fossil fuels. Lyrics to the song "Blowin' in the Wind" are included on the poster. The final size of the poster once printed measures 2 feet by 3 feet. If you are interested in a print, please contact me.

C.E.P. Logo

This is my first venture into logo creation. It was created for Collaborative Event Promotion, a local music and entertainment management group. The logo represents the company as a tree that shows how C.E.P. develops relationships between performers and the community.

Einstein Collage

Yet another collage/wallpaper type of piece which is themed around Albert Einstein and his discoveries and theories. Space-time and some of his general theories on how time works are included in the piece. This is another piece I wish I would have made into a larger, poster sized form.

Wedding Invitations

This piece consists of the various stationary needed to invite people to a wedding. This is one of my first projects I did outside school which made me feel very satisfied with design skills. I worked with the client throughout the process to create exactly what they wanted in their invitations

Futura: Progressivism in a Fascist State

Being one of my favorite typefaces, I decided to create a magazine spread that explores the origins of the typeface and its creator. Researching typefaces such as Futura has opened my eyes to how designers can get their work used and recognized almost anywhere. Futura is used in many different places including a stylized version in the Volkswagen logo as well as on the plaque on the Apollo 11(sic) moon lander that is to this day stuck on the moon.

Kelby Wallpaper

Another early example of a wallpaper collage I created in Photoshop for a friend. Since he is an avid music lover and also has created his own music, the overall theme is quite obvious. Some of the themes taken from his music also have been included within the piece.

My Own Gallery Show Postcard

Given the task of creating a postcard for a mock viewing of my artwork, I created a postcard that literally was me. I'm not too experienced with small size print artwork so I had trouble coming up with just enough text. Overall I believe I pulled off the piece well enough that a viewer would want to keep the postcard and go see my work.

Death Comes for Us All

Dealing with the theme of the inevitable, this is yet another example of my work that I created without any formal training. I latched on to Photoshop the first time I opened it and never looked back. Collages like this one are not only fun but also something to be proud of once you finish one. This is probably my favorite collage I've created simply because it was fun to create.

Step Into My Dreams

Another example of image manipulation that I have begun to like more and more. At first, drawing around parts of images in order to put multiple images was tedious, but as I grew more proficient with things such as the pen tool in Photoshop and Illustrator, I started to make them quicker and quicker. This piece deals with surrealism as well as a dream I had about walking into a vampire's castle.
